Richard Wetterauer is the creator of the "Mary Parker – Science Adventures" series, a collection of stories that invites young readers into the curious world of everyday science. Whether it’s boiling water on the stove or catching sunlight in a magnifying glass, Richard’s books celebrate wonder, learning, and exploration through storytelling and hands-on curiosity.

A lifelong learner, Richard studied mathematics at the University of Dayton and geoscience at Northwestern University. His love of discovery began early — from trying to trap steam bubbles in a glass jar as a child to wondering why the sky turns green before a storm. That same spirit lives on in Mary, his inquisitive young protagonist.

Richard lives in Texas, enjoys restoring antique furniture, and shares his days with a rescue Yorkie named Punkie.
